Shock
Well they say the trip starts when you get your ticket. I got mine yesterday!!! I was really excited about it. I got my ticket, got my second series of shots, sold my surfboard.
Everything was fine until I got home tonight and I noticed my couches were gone. There was nothing wrong with that because I had sold them earlier in the day I just got present to that I am really doing this. I’m not sure the feeling I had at that moment; anxiety, loss, home sickness. HA and I haven’t even made it to the airport yet.
I had a great overwhelming sense of sadness for what I’m leaving, which I suppose is part of the process. Even though I was born in Japan, I have been here in San Diego since I was a year and a half old.
In fact today I was recalling the day I learned to ride a bicycle. Hehe I can remember every little detail from out behind our house on Delaware Street in Imperial Beach. I remember the berry bushes weren’t the same height of the fence yet (remember those berries that you would pluck off of the bush and eat or throw at your friends in a berry fight and stain each others shirts?), I remember Dad pushing me on my yellow and blue Huffy from behind in the alley to get the speed going while I peddled and peddled my little 5 year old legs off. I also remember him stopping and letting me ride off with “balance” but not “steer” and hitting a curb and falling down.
I know I’ll only be gone for a year, But this is my home. And you are really wonderful friends. And I’ll really miss both.
Oh, by the way, I’m still going!!!
Kitties, Kitties, Kitties
Kazoo and B-Side are still needing a home. I am attaching pictures so you can see what they look like. They\’re 6 year old Twin Brother Orange Tabbies and have personality pouring out there oversized ears. Please let me know if you or anyone else is interested. I have only 13 days before I leave and I want to make sure that they assimilate to their newplace before I go.
Love,
William
