A Tale Of Two Cities

Tokyo, Japan The first leg of my trip had me land in Tokyo, Japan. It was a real thrill for me to visit Japan because I was born here 28 years ago. I left when I was 1 ½ (well, with a little help from my parents). I don\’t remember anything because I was just a baby. I want to say it was symbolic being there, so close to where I was born but I felt just like anywhere else. The culture is quite strange and I had no clue how to do things like go from A to B! […]

Well It’s Official

Shock Well they say the trip starts when you get your ticket. I got mine yesterday!!! I was really excited about it. I got my ticket, got my second series of shots, sold my surfboard. Everything was fine until I got home tonight and I noticed my couches were gone. There was nothing wrong with that because I had sold them earlier in the day I just got present to that I am really doing this. I’m not sure the feeling I had at that moment; anxiety, loss, home sickness. HA and I haven’t even made it to the airport […]

OUCH!!!! That hurts!

Well a little update for you all. I just got my immunization shots and boy it hurts not my arm but my bank account. I think the shots were more than what I’ll spend on my plane ticket!!! But rest assured I could lay on a bed of rusty nails while drinking untreated water from a mosquito infested swamp and not catch a thing. I actually believe I got the shots that make mosquitoes fly away when they see you walking down the street. So I have had to delay my flight a week to ensure my projects are totally […]

The Mission at Hand

Dear Family, Friends, Collegues, Clients, You are receiving this email because you have been in my life to some extent, be it small or great. I would like to share this with you all, thank you for reading. I have been so moved by the devastation in the Indian Ocean that I want to go do my part for the people. I will be closing both of my businesses and leaving for Thailand to a place called Khao Lak where the damage was the greatest, and they are still looking for missing people. I will be going to help people […]

John + Cameryn | Ramona, CA Wedding

I met John and Cameryn last year. They own a massage and healing center in here in San Diego and are freakishly in love with each other. When they asked me to be their wedding photographer I was more than honored. The wedding was quite an affair. John’s parents offered to hold it on their private estate in Ramona which is about 30 minutes from the center of San Diego. They grow Protea flowers on the big farm, and the whole area is beautiful and lush with all kinds of greenery everywhere. Wandering around the place was like walking through […]

Robert + Megan | San Diego Wedding | Four Seasons Aviara

I’ve been waiting for this for months! Robert + Megan’s wedding has finally come. I had a ton of fun with them when I [intlink id=”engagement-photography-usd-campus” type=”post”]photographed their engagement session in July[/intlink]. It was the biggest wedding I’ve photographed yet, and they went all out. The Four Seasons Aviara Club House on the golf course. It was a beautiful fall afternoon. What color we do get in San Diego was on display in golds, and oranges. And Megan and Robert’s friends and family were assembled en masse. As an aside… I’m also starting to develop a theory that all make-up […]

Donagh + Deborah | Ensenada Wedding Photography | Las Rosas Resort

I’ve known Deborah and Donagh for a few years. Even before I moved to Thailand, Deborah and I were talking about her plans for their wedding. Well the time finally came and I flew all the way from Austin to see my good friends back in San Diego. What was even more fun was partaking in the Irish Stag Party a couple nights before with all the boys. It was a crazy night of male bonding, pints of Guinness and I somehow adopted an Irish accent by night’s end. All the boys ended up crashing on the floor of one […]

Don + Meg | San Diego Wedding | MCRD Chapel + Japanese Garden, Balboa Park

When Meg first called me to photograph their wedding, her and Don were still living in Okinawa, Japan (stationed with the Marines). I had mentioned that I was born in Japan, and we just seemed to hit it off really well. We spoke for about an hour on the phone and I got to here all about Don’s orders to move to San Diego, and their plans for their wedding and all the life stuff they were going through as part of being part of the military. I was honored when they selected me as their wedding photographer, and even […]
