Kariem & Natalie’s Mission Bay Wedding

Kariem and I went to high school together. He was quite the awesome guy. He told me he was getting married just a couple days after I decided to start shooting weddings again. A sign if anything. Kariem and Natalie together are quite possibly the best expression of love out there. I loved watching and photographing them smile at each other all day long. It didn’t stop. As I was editing these photos weeks later, I often though that they could very well still be smiling at each other just like that. Please enjoy the photos.

Mark & Andrea’s Wedding at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills

About 3 years ago, I retired from wedding photography and began focusing on Flaunt Your Site my web development company for other photographers. I was so focused on creating websites for other photographers I had totally forgot how much I missed the excitement, thrill and pure love I have for shooting weddings. I had been talking with Andrea about potentially doing a website with her since she was intensifying her own photography business. We hit it off right away, a couple 2-3 hour conversations talking about the excitement of running and promoting a business and photography in general. At the beginning […]

Kariem & Natalie’s Engagement Session in Coronado & Otay Lake

It was around 92-93 when I met this half black/half Puerto Rican cat named Kariem. He transfered to Mar Vista High from outer space and intrigued me with his big brain and his knack for making guitars bleed. I knew this guy was going to be up to something in life, whatever that meant. Cut to 20 years later, and he and I connect on Facebook, find out we’re nearly neighbors, and decide to start running together. I also find out the dude is happily engaged and about to become happily married. Eventually I meet his betrothed, the sweetest Natalie, […]

Eric + Erinn | San Diego Engagement Photography | Imperial Beach + Windansea

Eric and Erinn are both officers in the Navy which rang for me with both of my parents having been in. Erinn is actually currently stationed in Virginia and Eric is working on getting into BUDS (Navy SEAL training) here in Coronado. They plan on getting married in Lawrence, Kansas. I’m crossing my fingers they fly me out to photograph the wedding too. Eric currently lives in Imperial Beach, and Erinn was visiting him for a week, which was a perfect time to get their Engagement Photography session done. we started out in IB with a few early morning shots […]

Untouchable. Aka: Paul Caponigro’s Bride

I’ve had an overwhelming response to my last post about my entry in the latest PPSDC print competition. Some of it was very supportive and some was very critical about my comments and unprofessional attitude towards losing the print competition. I believe both ends have very valid messages. I will admit, I was very frustrated and upset over losing, but I hope that I did not take away the other photographer’s achievements in the competition. What I did notice is that I had a number of people very interested in the thought process and the technical process of achieving the […]

Print Merit, Austin Next Week, and Amazing Dresses

PPSDC Print Merit Last night was the bi-monthly Professional Photographers of San Diego County print competition night. I had entered a photo I took while in Telluride, CO a couple weeks ago. If you follow the blog, you might have seen another version of it in another post. Well it received a “Merit” last night at the competition, which means that it scored at least an “80” from the judges on the panel. And believe me… These guys are TOUGH! The judging is the same level as the national PPA judging, so now I have a good idea of how […]

Mike and Erin’s Wedding on YouTube

I’m starting to love YouTube! I know… I’m just now catching up with the 21st century. Maybe I’ll even get one of those Cellular phones everyone is talking about now. Here’s a slideshow of a recent wedding with Mike and Erin I just uploaded to YouTube. If you’re a regular reader you may remember them as the couple with the [intlink id=”swamis-beach-wedding” type=”post”]tandem surfers in one of their photos[/intlink] at their beach wedding. This is the kind of slideshow that all my clients receive. (but much higher quality, and on DVD). Enjoy, and let me know what you think.

MOPA & My Very First Wedding

I’m actually rather behind on my blog posting, but I wanted to share a very cool thing that came up recently. A few weeks back I was looking through the Museum Of Photographic Arts website to see what was new, and to see how much it would be to get a membership again. While on the site I saw one of my old photos from my very first wedding! The picture (left) was from my good friend Rocio’s wedding, and it was of her Bridesmaid walking down the aisle of the MOPA Film Theatre in a hot red, strapless dress. […]

Pala Bridal Show

I’m such a terrible blogger. The big Pala Casino Bridal Show was this past Sunday, and I’m now just getting to it.I’d like to say it was because I was catching up on sleep, but not really. It was my first show, and was initially a bit nervous. But my assistant Esther and I ended up having a great time there. We met some very pretty brides to be. And I really felt that we stood out from the rest of the photographers. We met some really cool vendors as well. Brandy Pellegrino is a Boudoir only photographer, who I […]
